Class 7 focused on the continent North America. They sketched a Statue of Liberty, looking at shading and line and they created the Grand Canyon using oil pastels. They look so effective! They also made a silhouette effect of some of the main cities and bridges of North America with a sunset background and they looked closely at an American artist called Wayne Thiebaud and replicated some of his cake artwork. The children really enjoyed making a totem pole out of clay and they learned some cheerleading moves just like the cheerleaders in America!

The children have had tremendous amounts of fun doing artistic activities this week and learning all about the many things to do with North America!

We can’t wait for you to take a look at our Arts week display when you come into school!
