We have had such an enjoyable week in Class 9! We have created incredible art focused around ‘The Desert’!
We have used a variety of tools such as pencil, painting, pastel and clay. We each sketched a cactus, made clay lizards and camels, created some fantastic cactus pictures using both paint and oil pastels as well as creating a desert in the night sky collage.
On Monday, we were very excited to receive a session from Chris at Imagination Gaming. He showed us how to play a range of stimulating board games, which we thoroughly enjoyed! These included memory games, maths games and turn-taking games. Chris was fantastic as he kindly left us some of the games so that we can use them across school in the future!
On Tuesday, we received a dance workshop from Fiona which was brilliant! We learnt lots of different dance moves and created a class dance to a range of songs from the film ‘Aladdin’. We were definitely ready for a refreshing drink of water by the end of our hour session!
On Wednesday, Class 9 had a music workshop with Helen. She brought different percussion instruments in for us to play including: glockenspiels, tambourines, rain shakers, bells and tapping sticks. We created our very own piece of desert music by taking it in turns to play our instruments at different points and built up the layers of sound by adding more instruments, playing at the same time. We were very pleased with our completed piece of desert inspired music!
Overall, this has been such a memorable week for Class 9 and our Arts week display will be up next week. Please come and take a look at your child’s impressive work!
