We have had a fantastic week in Class 6! We have created amazing art focusing on ‘The Jungle’!
We have used a variety of different medias, such as pencil, painting and clay. We made clay monkeys and snakes, sketched leaves, oil pastel toucans painted sloths and tigers.
On Monday, we were lucky enough to have a session from Chris at Imagination Gaming. He showed us how to play a range of board games appropriated for year 1 children. These included memory games, maths games and turning taking games. Chris was excellent and he as kindly gifted school the games. We are going to be using these games in future after school clubs. Keep a look out for this coming in the not so distant future!
On Tuesday we received a dance workshop which was fabulous! The class learnt and performed a routine to jungle music. We were all exhausted by the end of our hour session!
On Wednesday Class 6 had a music workshop with Helen, She brought different percussion instruments in including: glockenspiels, tambourines, rain shakers, bells, and tapping sticks. We created our very own pieces of jungle music. We each took it in turns to play our instruments at different points and built up different layers by adding more instruments playing at the same time. Class 6 were very proud of creating their own music to represent the sounds heard in the jungle.
Overall this has been an unforgettable week for Class 6 and our Arts
week display will be up next week, please come and take a look at your child’s brilliant work.
