Today we have celebrated World Book day at school. We got to come to school as our favourite book characters. We completed a carousel of activities themed from each our four key authors; Julia Donaldson, Emily Gravett, Steve Smallman and  Roald Dahl.

With Miss Watts we painted a character from the book The Lamb Who Came For Tea by Steve Smallman. With Miss Hoskins we used our imagination and created a drawing to show what the frog would turn into after drinking the potion, based on the book Spells by Emily Gravett. We looked at Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory with Miss James and we went on a hunt for a golden ticket in various chocolate bars. The children had maths related questions to help to help them reach the golden ticket. With Miss Bamford we went on a Gruffalo hunt and answered different maths questions to give us letters for a characters name from the book the Gruffalo.

We also had a visit from the children from Deepcar St.Johns school. The Year 5 children visited class 8 and they read a book by one of our key authors to the children. It was really lovely !
