In 2-year-olds it’s been a great start to this half term as we have welcomed some new starters to our provision. We have been getting busy with activities based around the topic “Why do spiders eat flies?”. We have looked closely at a spider’s web and created our own by drizzling glue and adding glitter.
Wild science came into school and brought some special visitors. The children got to see lots of different creatures including praying mantis, snake, stick insects and a beetle.
We’ve also been busy planting sunflower seeds and watching them eagerly grow from a tiny seed into a plant.

In addition, we have enjoyed lots of activities around the setting involving other minibeasts, we’ve built bug houses, read the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, found hidden creepy crawlies in the sand and made number caterpillars. Safe to say our little ones have been very ‘busy bees!’
