Our new topic this term is “Why is water wet”. So far, the children have enjoyed the different activities on offer, such fishing for frogs and ducks in the water tray, trying to catch a fish with a fishing rod, making fish by using different techniques such as printing and sticking, making umbrellas with sparkly sequins and rowing in our boat on the pond. We have had conversations with the children about what creatures we may find in waters, such as ponds, rivers and seas. The children have also enjoyed our story of the week “Barry the fish with fingers”. We are excited to continue this topic over the next few weeks by experimenting with colour changing water and exploring different types of mar
k making and sensory materials linked to the topic.
