To celebrate VE day, the children in Year 1 and Year 2 had a wonderful and educational afternoon participating in activities reflective of those which took place on May 8th 1945 – the first VE day to celebrate the ending of WW2. The children enjoyed their informative assembly about how London was the epicentre of Victory in Europe with crowds gathering in Trafalgar Square, looking at historical photographs, and discussing how many people today know somebody who was impacted by WW2. The children also took part in playing traditional games, followed by a tea party to honour the service and sacrifice of those who fought in war.
