The children in class 2 have had a wonderful start to the half-term. They have been getting up to lots of activities based around their topic – ‘why do spiders eat flies?’ The children started their topic with a visit from Wild Science, where they were able to see various animals, including, a stick insect, praying mantis, snake and beetle. We have been hunting outside for minibeasts, practised addition using spider webs, practised segmenting and blending using ladybirds, painted one side of a butterfly and printed it onto the other side to create symmetrical wings and made delicious ladybird biscuits. We have also enjoyed getting outside in the lovely sunny weather too!
