The children in class 2 have been having lots of fun participating in different activities linked to our new topic which is all about autumn. They have been using their art skills to create autumn trees and hedgehogs. We have also been developing our fine motor skills with some autumn themed threading activities. The children have loved reading the story ‘The Foggy Foggy Forest’ by Nick Sharratt and have drawn characters from the story. The children have also developed their phonics skills by decoding CVC words and words containing digraphs on autumn leaves, as well as, practising ordering numerals between 0 and 20 using characters from ‘The Foggy Foggy Forest’ story. We have also been learning about nocturnal and diurnal animals as well!
