The children in FS2 had a fun time wearing red clothes for Red Nose Day. We donated some money to the charity too.
To celebrate World Book Day children at Royd came to school dressed up in their favourite book character. In the afternoon Y4 children from Deepcar St John's came to read a story to our children. Everyone really enjoyed it! A big thank you to all the children who came over.

The children in Class 2 have made their own animation film. We retold the story of 'The Three Little Pigs'. Class one and two had a great safety week. We learnt lots of things about keeping safe: we learnt how to cross the road with the lollipop lady, we talked about stranger danger with police officers, we met some paramedics and got to look at the ambulance and we had an assembly about internet safety.
Class 1 and 2 have had a lovely Arts Week. We have been reading 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' and making the characters from the story. We have also been learning about Bonfire Night and Diwali. Look out for our super art work around school! Well done Class 1 and Class 2! [...]
Class Two had a super time at forest schools! We had a running race up the big hill where we all tried our best! Then we made woodland flags using hessian and sticks. We collected water from the stream and mixed this with food powder to create some paint. Then we created our own designs [...]
This morning the children stopped what they were doing and all took part in a 30 minute aerobics session. The children absolutely loved performing to modern music and were being active for the full session. Staff also enjoyed joining in with the session although some staff commented that the could've done with a rest afterwards. [...]
