Diwali

In Reception we like to celebrate other cultures and their celebrations. During the Autumn term we have learnt all about the festival of Diwali. This is a festival celebrated by many all around the world and is known as the festival of light. In class one we have enjoyed making rangoli patterns, creating our own mendhi and sculpting our own Divas. Wherever possible we ensure our topic is cross-curricular and so, as part of maths, we used the ‘to count’ programme on purple mash to create a shopping list of items that we needed for our very own Diwali party. The children have really enjoyed learning about Diwali and taking part in the different activities.
