Royd Nursery Infant School are pleased to announce that we WON the “Outdoor Learning Award” at the Sheffield Schools Get Active Awards 2023. As part of the attached pictures you can read some of the amazing opportunities that children at Royd are provided with linked to outdoor learning. We would like to say a big thank you to the staff at Royd that dedicate so much time and effort into planning and delivering these amazing opportunities that the children thoroughly enjoy and benefit from.
Also a huge congratulations to Deepcar St John CE Junior School who were highly commended for the “Primary Sports Leadership Award” at the Sheffield Schools Get Active Awards 2023. Deepcar St John CE Junior School has previously been nominated and won the “Inspirational Sports for Girls Award”. The Sports Leaders at Deepcar St John CE Junior School host a range of amazing opportunities for their peers. The Sports Leaders also deliver sessions at Royd Nursery Infant School on a daily basis. This has had a significant impact on physical activity at Royd. Furthermore, it has strengthened other aspects such as transition between the school as the Year 2s already have a friend(s). It has also developed children’s wellbeing, confidence and their agility, balance and coordination (the three aims of the Key Stage 1 curriculum).
