On Tuesday 25th April, Key Stage 1 held a ‘learn a new skill’ afternoon and invited parents/carers in to share this experience. The children completed three 30 minute stations consisting of Archery, Team building and Mini first aiders.

For Archery, children learnt about how to hold a bow and arrow and the best technique for aiming to hit the target. For their team building activity, children had to work collaboratively to solve a series of gigantic shape puzzles and work together to balance and guide a ping pong ball through a maze with holes in it! They were challenging but the children worked brilliantly as teams to get the jobs done! For first aid, children learnt about the importance of knowing their address, who to dial in an emergency (999) and how to put someone into the recovery position. They then practised putting their peers and grown ups into the recovery position!

Feedback from the children was extremely positive with all three skills proving to be popular. We are really grateful to parents / carers for taking the time to share these learning experiences!
