In our 2 year provision over the last few weeks we began doing activities around Autumn and our theme ‘why do leaves go crispy’.

The children have enjoyed doing various activities such as leaf printing which allows children to explore how printing works and gives them the opportunity to experiment with mixing colours and looking at the patterns that the leaves make.
Everyone had lots of fun playing outside in the leaves, the children developed their fine and gross motor skills by running, jumping, rolling, throwing and carefully picking up the leaves.
During our session we made pumpkin soup then we tried this at snack time whilst reading the book ‘pumpkin soup’. Everyone sat together looking, tasting abnd talking about our pumpkins. Some children liked the soup and some said it was yukky, it’s definitely an acquired taste!!!
