The children in Reception enjoyed a Science day where we took part in different experiments throughout the day. We really enjoyed learning about how plants need soil, warmth, sunlight and water to grow. Then we planted our own plants in our outdoor area. We are looking forward to watching our plants grow over the next few weeks. We also experimented using food colouring, dish soap and milk. The children enjoyed finding out that the soap would cause the colours to disperse around the dish. We found out this is because the soap breaks the bonds in the milk! Another experiment we explored was seeing which different materials are waterproof. The children had a fantastic day taking part in all of the experiments.
