This term the children have explored the new topic ‘How many colours are in the rainbow?’. The children have enjoyed exploring the use of colours in their play, using the computer to develop their mouse control, making collages and pictures of rainbows and working on their fine motor skills using tweezers and pom poms. The children have also enjoyed singing our rainbow song and making observations of the weather everyday. They even got a chance to see a few rainbows over the past couple of weeks! Outside the children have continued to look for signs of Spring. Some children noticed some daffodils growing and soon wanted to water them independently.
Our story over the past couple of weeks has been ‘Egg Drop’. The children have been busy making a tower similar to the one in the story for the Egg to fall off! They worked as a team to build the tower together. Finally one of our important skills children have been working hard on is turn taking. We always encourage children to be kind to others in Nursery. These children were great at this making sure to stand on their spots until it was time for their turn on the interactive whiteboard.
