The school councils from Royd Nursery Infant School and Deepcar St John’s CE Junior School visited  Stocksbridge Town Council as part of this academic year’s elections. The children discussed a range of positives about the local community and the benefits that things such as Fox Valley, the library and the leisure centre provide. They also discussed concerns such as road safety around both schools and the need to lower the speed restriction to 20MPH on roads directly on route to schools. Plans for a 5G tower(s) around the local area and the impact this may have on all local residents were also shared. The school would like to say a huge thank you to Mayor Richard Crowther who instigated the visit and was really warm and welcoming.
