Our new topic this term is “Where does the snow go?”. So far, the children have enjoyed exploring various activities and resources on offer. We have made use of the cold weather and brought ice in from outside into the setting. The children enjoyed exploring the ice, touching it, talking about how it feels, what was happening to ice now it was inside. We have talked about cold countries and about the animals that might live there. In the construction area we have been building igloos and talking to the children about how some people live in igloos . They have also enjoyed creating their very own melting snowman. The children also used various mark making tools to create polar bears; these are proudly displayed on our board. Our shared read story is Stick Man. We are continuing to explore this topic over the coming weeks.
