People across the country and the Commonwealth celebrated the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla over a weekend of special events on 6 – 8th May 2023. The Coronation is centred around a solemn religious ceremony and has remained largely unchanged for over a thousand years. For the last 900 years, the ceremony has taken place at Westminster Abbey, London and is conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. As part of the celebrations Royd Nursery Infant School received some wildflower seeds to mark the occasion. The wildflower seeds are meant to be sown in Spring or Autumn. Now that Autumn has arrived the children have spent some time planting the seeds. They really enjoyed this activity and can’t wait to see how they turn out. We are also hoping that a insects such a butterflies come to visit!
